Group Home
Adrian’s Haven hosts and facilitates group sessions for all residents. Group sessions focus on how to promote healthy daily living skills, independent living skills, self-esteem, education, healthy decision making, and self-care. These sessions include guest speakers, who are experts in their field. These sessions are tailored to the population served and include demonstrations, conflict resolution techniques, goal setting, financial literacy, hygiene education, STD education (if appropriate), effective communication, and peer mediation methods.

Family Relationships
Our organization seeks to understand family dynamics and bonded relationships that youth have identified as support persons and positive influences. Our organization supports visitation and communication with family as identified in each individual youth case plan.

Education
Adrian’s Haven promotes and supports the importance of education. All residents attend a traditional school model and are encouraged to complete necessary coursework for graduation requirements. Residents are given the tools to explore options to further other scholastic endeavors including college or becoming certified in a skilled trade. Administration collaborates with the schools of our youth to ensure attendance, behavior, homework, and grade keeping are acceptable.

Life Skills
Adrian’s Haven advocates, promotes, and teaches the importance of independent living skills and overall life skills. We believe these tools are essential for youth to become productive members of society. We promote positive interaction with their environment, peers, and family. By implementing these skills, youth will develop a sense of dignity and worthiness that permits them to problem solve appropriately. Adrian’s Haven will teach youth financial literacy, basic cooking skills, understanding hygiene care, organizing time, exploring personal identity, cleaning environment, resume building, interview skills, budget planning (learning the banking system), etc.

Recreation and Activities
All youth have access to YMCA facilities, parks and recreation , listening to music, nature walks, bowling alleys, arts and crafts, cooking classes, roller skating rinks, movies, dinner outings, and family oriented board games. Youth also have regular opportunities to attend church and to volunteer in the community. Depending on the individual case and treatment plan of each youth, residents can earn opportunities to obtain job coaching to prepare them for the world of work. Several of our youth are employed part time while maintaining grades.
